Business Grants for Employing New Immigrants

Businesses are eligible to receive grants for employing new immigrants and returning Israelis from The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption's Center for Absorption in Science.

Eligible Employers:

Businesses and organizations eligible under the program include employers in academic, private and public sectors.

Grant Programs:

1. Grants for Businesses Employing New Immigrants holding Advanced Degrees:

* A new immigrant holding a master's degree – Up to 39,000 NIS (or $9,320 at 4.2 NIS/$1.00) per year per employee for up to three years.
* A new immigrant holding a doctorate degree – Up to 46,140 NIS ($10,860) per year per employee for up to three years.

If the new immigrant is employed in bona-fide R&D activity then the employer can be reimbursed 7,340 NIS ($1,750) for R&D expenses during the first year of employment.

2. Grants for Businesses Employing Returning Residents with Advanced Degrees and Returning Scientists:

Businesses employing Israelis, with advanced degrees, who have returned from living abroad for at least two years, (or three years in the case of returning scientists) are entitled to receive salary grants for up to 1 year from their date of return to Israel.

3. Grants for Businesses Employing New Immigrants without Advanced Degrees:

Businesses employing new immigrants not holding advanced degrees can receive salary grants for a limited time period. The subsidy offered is half the minimum monthly salary for up to six months. Within the framework of this program, businesses receive grants for employing new immigrants that have been in Israel for less then 10 years.
